I’ve been mesmerized by the clouds over Kentucky since I can remember. I’m particularly fascinated by a soft, vivid wash of colored light across a white surface.
With my ongoing series of “Cloud Panels”, I precisely laser-cut a steel panel and then subtly fold the steel open to colored light.
I’m drawn to irony within this work: the use of flat, rigid steel panels to create a series of pieces inspired by clouds.
My “Cloud Panels” are illuminated by an integral LED panel. Although I often envision these panels with a blue or violet light, virtually any color can be selected, and the color can be changed at any time with a hand-held variable color remote control.
The “Cloud Panels” are easily wall-mounted. I provide the hardware and a remote control for each of my “Cloud Panels”.
